CYCLOTRON:

Everyday, Valley Nuclear incorporated produces FDG at our “State of the arts” manufacturing facility in McAllen, Texas. Online since 2006, our GE PetTrace Cyclotron has proven itself to be very dependable. We are capable of producing more than enough FDG for valley wide distribution.

You can rest assured knowing your unit dose FDG has been prepared by the same company, which has provided the Rio Grande Valley with reliable Nuclear Medicine service since 1992. Your unit dose FDG has been manufactured under strict cGMP and proposed FDA and USP-797 guidlines. Our staff consist of Pharmacists, Engineers and Technicians who have undergone extensive training to master the complex procedures of Cyclotron Operations, Chemistry and Quality Control.

Stong business ethics, integrity and commitment have benefited Valley Nuclear’s excellent reputation for providing quality nuclear medicine products since day one. We are progressive innovators in our nuclear medicine community who are quick to add new products and services. PET FDG is one those itmes we’ve made readily available to the Rio Grande Valley.

CHOOSE VALLEY NUCLEAR FOR YOUR PET NEEDS.

When deciding on a vendor for you Positron Emission Tomography (PET) needs, Valley Nuclear realizes you have a choice. Here are some questions to consider:

  1. Why have your PET FDG doses shipped from Houston, Dallas or San Antonio when you can get them down the street? It's all about service and convenience! Do you need to add another dose during the day? No problem, we make extra product, which is sold on a first come first serve basis. This is just one benefit of using local service.

  2. Disillusioned with weather delays due to something as common as fog?  It's a fact that small aircraft is used by our competitors to deliver PET FDG to Valley PET centers. It's also a fact that inclement weather, mainly fog,  is a hindrance to those aircraft and their landing capabilities. As a result of these unpredictable weather situations, time and time again, some Valley PET centers receive their doses late (or not at all). With late deliveries come weak doses, cancellations and unhappy people due to F-18's short half life; however, some Valley PET centers are not affected, because they receive their PET FDG from Valley Nuclear Incorporated. Our Cyclotron has proven itself to be very reliable, and our well maintained fleet of delivery vehicles is not affected by fog. Valley Nuclear offers unsurpassed service!

  3. Would you like to get started earlier and do more patients? You're the boss. Tell us when you need your isotopes and they'll be there.

  4. Would you like to perform patient studies on Saturdays? No problem at all. We just ask you give a 24 hour notice and schedule a minimum of 7 patients.

  5. Would you like to reduce unnecessary exposure to hazardous 511 KeV radiation? Having six or more pre-calibrated doses in a Nuclear Medicine department can be a liability issue! How many pre-calibrated FDG doses do you have in your department everyday? How much unnecessary exposure are your Technologist acquiring? Instead of having all your PET FDG doses delivered at one time, and exposing your Technologists and patients to harmful 511 KeV energy, we will deliver your doses two at a time; thereby reducing exposure to hazardous radiation and bring your department in line with ALARA limits. This should make OSHA, State Auditors, your Health Physicists and your employees very appreciative.

  6. Would you like to save HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of DOLLARS per year? Depending on the price you currently pay and how many doses you use, you could potentially save hundreds of thousands of dollars. Call Steven or Gene for a price quote.

  7. When your camera goes down, would you like credit on unused doses? Your camera is mechanical, and someday it will fail. Don't worry, because Valley Nuclear will happily take the FDG doses back and give you full credit. (some restrictions may apply. Call Steven or Gene for details.)

And to put your mind at ease...

In addition to the local GE Service Engineer who lives in the Rio Grande Valley, Valley Nuclear employs two degreed engineers who have extensive training and experience in mechanical and electrical applications. It's their job to maintain Valley Nuclear's cyclotron and all its ancillary equipment; and if that weren't enough, Valley Nuclear has a back-up source of PET FDG just in case of mechanical failure.

In Closing...

We manufacture the same identical product as our competitors, using the same chemical processes; in addition, the FDA requires our product must pass numerous quality control procedures before it can be released to the public. Our pharmacy and manufacturing facility is regulated by several government entities such as the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Texas Department of State Health Services Bureau of Radiation Control and the Texas Department of Transportation (TexDOT). Our competent staff has an abundance of training and is well qualified to manufacture, package and ship your PET radiopharmaceuticals to your facility. There's no need to spend more money for the same identical product, and have it shipped in from hundreds of miles away. Valley Nuclear can manufacture plenty of PET FDG to distribute valley wide and then some!

Save money, and get better service! How does that sound? Call today and have your doses delivered tomorrow. It's that simple.
